Dear Path Finder,
I pray you find your purposeful path, walk audaciously in it, and inspire others to find theirs too.
Two years ago, I learned a truth that transformed my life: the power of making declarations over my own life. Until then, I would labour in prayer over certain matters, not knowing that many of those breakthroughs could be birthed through the words I boldly spoke in alignment with God’s truth.
We spend most of our day using our tongue, to speak, to express, to respond. Yet how often do we pause to consider the weight of those words? Scripture reminds us that, although the tongue is one of the smallest parts of our body, it holds tremendous power, power to build or destroy, to bless or to curse, to release life or death.
This edition of Uncommon Path is an invitation to take a closer look at what comes out of your mouth. To examine the words you use daily, and the impact they have on your life, your mindset, and your destiny.
Take a moment and search your heart:
- What do you say to yourself in moments of disappointment, pain, or frustration?
- Do you speak less of yourself so you can fit in or appear “humble”?
- Do your words reflect faith or fear?
If you are tired of waiting, being hurt, treated unfairly, remember – speaking against yourself doesn’t move you forward.
While you reflect, I’ve created 15 declarations under three areas of life — Personal, Career & Business, and Spiritual Growth — and I’m challenging you to add 5 more of your own. Speak them out loud daily, until even the hidden doubts in your heart begin to believe them. Do this for three months and watch how your outlook shifts, your faith strengthens, and your long-standing prayers begin to take form.
1. Personal Declarations
- I am gifted and talented. The impact I make is meaningful and with substance.
- I make wise decisions daily about my health, finances, relationships, work, and personal projects.
- I am selective with my words. I do not engage in conversations that demean or unfairly criticize others.
- I do not lack anything. God has made provision for all my needs.
- I complete what I start. I am disciplined and focused, refusing complacency and procrastination.
2. Career & Business Declarations
- I walk in excellence. Every task I undertake produces results of impact.
- I am selected, preferred, and recommended. I have favour with God and with people.
- My growth is accelerated beyond natural trends. I lead with empathy, compassion, and authority.
- I provide solutions to complex and long-standing challenges.
- I am a pleasure to work with and collaborate with. People trust me with big projects.
3. Spiritual Growth Declarations
- I am fearfully and wonderfully made. I am called and chosen by God.
- God loves me. His love and righteousness are freely given because I believe in Him.
- I desire to know God and make Him known. I prioritize prayer, fasting, and studying His Word.
- I carry immeasurable favour that touches everyone I encounter.
- My mind is filled with God’s goodness, His promises, His peace, and His joy.
If any of these declarations don’t align with your life right now, rewrite them until they speak directly to your desired future in Christ.
My prayer for you is that you will develop a healthy relationship with your words — not only the words you speak to others, but especially the ones you speak to yourself.
Are you ready to challenge yourself to make these declarations daily?
“The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit.” — Proverbs 18:21
Shalom,
Oyena
