God seldom builds in public — The beauty of the hidden work

Dear Path Finder,

I pray you find your purposeful path, walk audaciously in it, and inspire others to find theirs too.

We live in a world where almost everything is documented, shared, and consumed in real time. It feels like every moment must be seen, every thought tweeted, every step broadcast. Yet, God’s building process rarely looks like that. More often, His most profound work happens in silence, away from the noise, far from the applause, hidden from the eyes of men.

Think about it:

Moses spent forty years in the desert, tending sheep, before returning to lead Israel out of Egypt.

Even Jesus lived thirty quiet, unseen years before the three years of ministry we now read about in the Gospels.

God doesn’t rush His process to meet our human timelines. He protects what He’s building until it is strong enough to carry the weight of visibility.

Why the Hidden Seasons Matter

  • Protection: A seed is safest underground until it’s strong enough to withstand the growth challenges. In the same way, your hidden season shields you from forces that might destroy what God is still forming.
  • Purity of Motive: When no one is clapping, you learn whether your obedience is truly for Him or for recognition. Hidden seasons strip away the desire to perform for human approval.
  • Preparation: Silence doesn’t mean inactivity. God is equipping you, shaping you, and pouring into you so that when you finally speak or act, it carries power, clarity, and eternal weight.

Reflection

Don’t despise obscurity. It’s not punishment; it’s a covering. It’s God’s kindness to protect you while He completes His work in you. And when the time is right, when the roots are deep and the fruit is ready, He Himself will reveal you, not for your glory, but for His.

So if you find yourself in a hidden season right now, take heart. This is not wasted time. It’s holy ground.

Shalom,
Oyena
