Dear Path Finder,
I pray you find your purposeful path, walk audaciously in it, and inspire others to find theirs too.
I’m tempted to say Happy New Year again, because honestly, it still hasn’t sunk in. I still catch myself saying “next year” instead of “this year.” It feels far-fetched, like the calendar changed, but my mind hasn’t caught up.
Let me confess something else too. I don’t necessarily buy into the “New Year” trend.
Not because it’s wrong, but because God’s timing doesn’t wait for 01 January. God does not wait for “next month” to move. He does not pause until 31 December at 23:59 to release a word over your life.
God can start a new thing on the 13th of March, on a random Wednesday, on the day you thought nothing would happen.
He is the beginning and the end of all time. All time rests in His palm. And what feels like forever to you can be a single day to Him.
So I’m not here to criticize anyone who believes in the “freshness” of a new year. But I am here to challenge you not to make the mistake of thinking that the power of your life depends on a date on the calendar.
Sisi Oyena, why are you bringing this up?
People are watching you. And they see it more than you do.
Not the kind of watching that wants you to fail. Not the watching that competes. Not the watching that envies or sabotages. But a watching that observes your life with admiration.
They are watching you show up even when you don’t feel like it.
They are watching you fail, and still remain hopeful.
They are watching you get ridiculed and gossiped about, and still refuse to fight dirty.
They are watching you rebuild when you could have quit.
Some people see your resilience more clearly than you do. They admire you while you’re questioning your whole existence.
They see it all.
And whether they admit it or not, you are giving them permission to keep going.
People look at you, and suddenly they have hope again. They look at you, and somehow find courage to face their own life. They look at you, and their faith rises, because you didn’t give up. You may not realize it, but you’re mentoring people indirectly. Your life is discipling people silently.
Life is not just about what you have and don’t have. God didn’t create you simply to meet your personal needs.
Yes, He cares about you — deeply.
But His intention was always bigger.
God had nations in mind. He had generations in mind. He had people you will never meet, but who will be touched by your obedience.
So in this new wave of the “New Year”, I invite you to think bigger than yourself.
Remember that people are watching, not out of spite, but because your life is giving them a reason to believe.
Even when you failed CTA, and you go back to study again, that awakens hope in someone who thinks it’s too late. Even when life knocks you to rock bottom, and you are not ashamed to start again, that becomes a prophecy to someone who thought their life was over.
Your life is bigger than January.
Your life is bigger than 2026.
God has more in store for you. Entertain that reality.
People are watching. They are inspired more than you know. They see more than you see.
I’m excited to hear all the great things you will embark on this year, please share them with me.
Shalom,
Sis Oyena
