Uncommon Path Network

Dear Pathfinder,

I pray you find your purposeful path, walk audaciously in it and inspire others to find theirs too.

No words can describe the amount of inner turmoil leading up to this final piece. I was concerned about not sounding too deep, too serious, too playful or too boring, so I settled with just writing from my heart. Path Finders I am privileged to be the voice momentarily taking over UPN.

There is something about one who is fully defined. You cannot convince them otherwise, because they are not worried about how they come across but have settled in the reality of being themselves.

Paul in the book of Acts says “I never shrank back from telling you what you needed to hear, either publicly or in your homes”. What fascinates me the most about Paul is that there is rarely a moment he held back from who he was called to be and what he was called to do. From the moment of encounter that changed the trajectory of his life, he ran with God’s voice and mandate, and even in chains he continued to be an ambassador of the gospel.

It is fully evident that living a life fully defined by God is never easy and often times we fail to be all that he has called us to be, we fail to let him define us because we have become comfortable with substituting his voice with small glories that yield to nothing.

I will always make reference to one of my most embarrassing moments in an event where God instructed me to raise up my hand and answer a question, firstly what do you mean because you know that I don’t do well with crowds, can I tell you that my voice was shaking while answering, but God why?! That is what allowing him to fully define you sometimes looks like. That with my voice shaking and knees trembling I will be all that he has called me to be. We have no excuse!

The reality is that whether or not we choose to be all that God has called us to be, the mandate still continues.

I invite you then to slow down and be honest with yourself, leading up to this moment whether or not you have been submitted to his voice or have been one of those people who proclaims him as sovereign yet he rarely recieves a yes from you. I challenge you to take a step towards who he has defined and purposed you to be even in the smallest ways.
